Restful Rosie Scrapbook Page

Hello!

I thought you might like to see the inspiration page I made for my Beginners' Scrapbooking Class last night. The star of the page - photographically speaking - is our gorgeous cat, Rosie, and the photo was taken by our wedding photographer on the morning of Alan's and my wedding (nearly two years ago now - how time flies!).

The other star of the page is most definitely the Big Shot. I used the Flowers, Daisies 2 die for the flower embellishment (LOVE this die!). The journalling is done using the Top Note (a Stampin' Up! exclusive die), and I cut it once out of Pear Pizzazz card and then a second time out of Very Vanilla. On the Very Vanilla die-cut, I cut around the perforations to make a slightly smaller layer, which then fitted beautifully onto the Pear Pizzazz layer. A few faint pencil lines, a stamped headline (Just Perfect Alphabet) and - hey presto! - a lovely bit of journalling. Don't you love the way the Decorative Label goes perfectly with the Top Note die? Finally, Rosie's name was die cut using the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet dies that I got last week. I can see these becoming a BIG favourite - the font goes with any style and it's just SO easy to use. Can you believe you get a WHOLE alphabet (upper and lower case), AS WELL AS numbers and punctuation??!! I used all upper case lettering and was delighted to find that they fit beautifully into the new Decorative Label Punch, making scrapbooking titles just so easy to do.

The gorgeous paper is from the Springtime Vintage Designer Paper pack. There is such a variety of patterns in this pack. This one was perfect for this page, because it emphasises the fact that Rosie was snuggled down right in the middle of my packed-to-the-gills flower garden. So even though the photo itself doesn't actually show any blooms, the page ensures that she is surrounded with them.

Last night's class marked the end of an era. It was the last at our current home. Alan and I pick up the keys to our new place tomorrow morning (sooooo excited!!) and then there are no more classes for the rest of April, to give us a chance to move house. I'll be back with a bang, though, on Wednesday 4th May with my Distress and Vintage Techniques Class. Exact venue details will be posted as soon as I have finalised them, but the class will be in the Kesgrave area of Ipswich. Places are just £20 each and include a free Stampin' Up! Distressing Essentials Kit (worth £14.95). Contact me to book, or you can secure your place by clicking on the PayPal link in the sidebar. See you there!

Thanks for dropping in. See you soon!

Top Note "Purse Card"

Hello!

This is one of the gorgeous projects we made a few weeks ago at Stampin' Up! regional training. It's a little purse card (I was going to call it a wallet, but it's too girly, really) with space to pop a couple of business cards inside, or maybe a couple of photos. It was so simply to make using the Big Shot, and I think it'd be even better, maybe, if the Top Note die-cuts were embossed before the whole thing was assembled.

Easily adaptable for a man's card, too. Just get rid of the butterfly and swap out the ribbon for twill tape, or linen thread. All sorts of possibilities!

Thanks for popping by. I was at another training day yesterday, so my head is buzzing with ideas. We pick up the keys to our new house on Friday, though, so I'd perhaps better concentrate on that before I spend too much time playing. On the other hand, though...

See you soon!

A (Mini) Box of Delights

Hello!

I love this little Mini Milk Carton die! It's so cute, and perfect for giving little gifts - imagine this filled with those tiny mini-chocolate eggs...

The decoration on this was inspired by one of the samples in the new Mini-Catalogue. I cut a piece of the Springtime Vintage Designer paper to size and tore down one side, to give a nice distressed look. The twine is our linen thread (so lovely!) and the flower is made using the Flowers, Daisies 2 die. The leaf sprig is cut using the Little Leaves Sizzlits die. Really sweet, and the whole thing is only three inches high!

I'm loving playing with my new Big Shot. If you fancy getting your hands on this must-have bit of crafting kit, drop me an email or give me a call. I have a fantastic special offer on all Big Shots bought from me before the end of May: click here for more details.

Thanks for looking, and see you soon. Hope it's as sunny where you are as it is here today!

Polka Dot Sailing!

Hello!

Stampin' Up! has been increasing its range of individual stamps and there are some gorgeous ones in the new Mini-Catalogue. This card is made with the lovely "Sail Away", and it's a fantastic card for the men in your life.

The image has a really nice, sketchy quality to it, which means that it looks just as good if you don't want to add any colour, as it does if you colour it in. This one was stamped in Early Espresso and simply mounted onto a mat of the same colour cardstock, having edge-punched the side using the Scallop Trim Border Punch.

Don't you just love the polka dot background? I think it's fabulous - and it's done using the Big Shot and the "Perfect Polka Dots" embossing folder (another Stampin' Up! exclusive). It's fab for adding a little bit of texture and just lifts a plain card without being too highly decorated. I can see I'm going to be using this one a LOT!

Thanks for visiting - see you soon!

A Big Welcome To The Big Shot!

Hello!

Yes - as you've seen from my posts over the past few days, Stampin' Up! has brought the Big Shot die cutting system to Europe in our fabby new Mini-Catalogue. What an amazing bit of kit this fabulous machine is!!

This will really take your crafting up a notch. Don't think it is just for cards, or even just for papercrafting - oh no! This beauty will cut and emboss literally hundreds of different materials, anything from lace to chipboard, to plywood and even metal sheeting! You will not believe it until you try it, and it's SO EASY to use, not heavy or hard on the hands at all. Just superb!

The Big Shot for Stampin' Up! is so sleek in its exclusive black and grey livery, and will look stylish in any craft room, and because of its colour even those male crafters amongst us will be able to take pride in displaying it (yes, pink is fine for girly girls like me, but not all girls like pink, and not all crafters are girls!). And the dies - oh the dies are just To Die For (please excuse the pun!)!!!! The exclusive Stampin' Up! dies, and embossing folders are too perfect for words. If you haven't seen them yet, click on the picture in the sidebar to be taken to the online catalogue. They really are something so special - thank you, Stampin' Up! We have been asking for ages for the opportunity to bring the Big Shot to you, and this is just one of the many brilliant things about Stampin' Up! - they really do listen to us, and to you, and, because we asked them for it they have brought it to us ages earlier than had originally been planned. Isn't it great to be listened to?!

My Special Introductory Offer

The introduction of such a fantastic machine as this deserves a really big welcome, so I felt I couldn't let Stampin' Up!'s launch of the Big Shot go without a special fanfare of my own. A Pillow Box, A Pillow Box!

Hello!

Wow - what a gorgeous weekend! I hope you had as much sun as we did, it is SO nice to have some warm, cheerful weather after such a looooong cold winter.

Here is the little make and take my lovely guests made at my Launch Party on Saturday:

It's a sweet little pillow box made using the Big Shot (so easy, I just can't tell you!). We stamped all over the box after it was cut out, but before taping it together, to add a little bit of decoration to the plain cardstock. The stamp used here is the swirl from "Season Of Joy", although my ladies also had the option to use the big flourish stamp from Baroque Motifs if they wanted to. In my sample shown here, both the cardstock and the ink used are Perfect Plum. I love the effect you get when you stamp on cardstock with the same colour of ink - it's still subtle, but a sharper, more "definite" impression than using VersaMark. The label is one of the Four Labels set in the new Mini, with a sentiment from "Basic Phrases" stamped in the middle, then punched out using the brand new Decorative Label punch. Gorgeous!!

This pillow box die is so handy. I can see it being used to super-cute wedding favours, or to pop a beautiful piece of jewellery in as a gift. You could even fill it with pot pourri and pop it on a shelf in your wardrobe to add some fragrance to your clothes.

To give you an idea of how different the same box can look when it's decorated differently, here is another one I made.

This one is my take on one of the samples in the new Mini. After I cut the box out, I ran the shape through the Big Shot again, in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder (exclusive to Stampin' Up!). A couple of strips of ribbon secured with glue dots and finally three die-cut daisies and a button to add the finishing touch. I love it! Hope you do too...

Ooh - before I forget.. On Saturday I held a raffle for the ladies who came to my Launch Party. The winning ticket was number 2 - congratulations Tracy! I'll get your prize to you when your order is delivered, so you should have it by the end of the week.

A big thank you to all of you who came to my Launch Party - I had a great time and I hope you did too! I'm going to be holding another Open House at the beginning of May, after we've moved house, so watch out for more details of that coming soon.

Thanks for visiting - see you soon!
