Curled Paper Garland

Hello! I love this pretty garland I made yesterday using the "Beyond The Garden" Designer Series Paper. What do you think?

The base is one of those hard polystyrene rings you can pick up in craft shops, and then all you do is cut strips of DSP, curl them with your Bone Folder, pin them in place and there you go! It doesn't even take very long but, be warned: it looks atrocious until the very end, particularly if you're a neat-freak like me. Don't panic, keep pinning away and it will look fabulous. I used a little under half a pack of DSP, and the polystyrene ring I used was about eight inches (20cm) in diameter. The next time, I'm going to use a larger ring, so the centre hole is more defined, but I'm so pleased with how this turned out!

Don't forget, you can still order three packs of our beautiful DSP and choose a fourth one absolutely free, but time is running out. You need to get in touch with me by 10:00pm on Friday evening (29th June) at the latest if you want to take advantage of this amazing offer, as I'll be in a reception-dead area for most of Saturday so can't guarantee I'll be able to take your calls or pick up your emails then.

Right, I'm off to pack for tonight's "Sparkle" event. Hope to see you there, or if you can't make it, pop back here soon for more pretties. Thanks for dropping in!

There Are Only A Few Days Left To (Paper) Party!

Hello! Doesn't time fly?! June is going by so quickly and there are only a few days left to take advantage of Stampin' Up!'s Paper Party promotion. With every order you place with me in June for three packs of Designer Series Paper, you'll be able to order another pack (worth £9.95) absolutely FREE!

You can choose from any of the packs of paper shown above (click on the picture to see it in a larger format, or click here to see the flyer in full) and I'd find it almost impossible to choose my favourites - they are all absolutely gorgeous and you can find something to suit all tastes, styles and crafting projects. If you're after a really simple, yet stunning project, why not just slip a whole sheet of our 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper into a square frame and pop it onto your wall? There's a pack to suit any colour scheme and you can be sure to have something your neighbours will NOT see in any home decor or furnishing shop (mentioning no names, of course!).

Can't resist it? Click here to find out how to place your order. We're away on Saturday, so to be on the safe side you'll need to make sure your order reaches me by 10:00pm on Friday (29th June).

Back soon - I'm off to make some more pretty things for tomorrow's "Sparkle" event - I hope you'll be able to join us then!

July "Cards ...and More!" Class Details (and some Rosie pictures too!)

Hello! Well, that’ll teach me not to schedule all my posts in advance, it leaves me no room for manoeuvre if (when!) life decides to take me on a detour from all that I’d planned on doing. What a week!
I'll tell you a little bit more about my week in a moment but first - I finally have a sneak peek of one of July’s class projects for you!!!

In July and August, we’ll be focussing strongly on the fabulous “Simply Scored” range and July’s projects include an exquisite tiered gift box and matching greetings card. In the picture you can see the beautiful Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper, but on the day you’ll have your choice of a range of Designer Series Papers to use – ensuring that you will leave the class having made a project that’s as unique as you are.

The class itself costs just £10 but, as always, when you book your place, I give you the exclusive opportunity to buy some of the gorgeous products we'll be using at the class, at a special discounted price and reduced shipping (FREE shipping if you order before 30th June). You won’t be surprised to learn that this month’s bundles all include your very own “Simply Scored” Scoring Tool, and there are bundles available to suit all pockets. Click here for further details.

To book your place, all you need to do is click on the PayPal link in the sidebar and choose the options that apply to you. There is no need to have a PayPal account of your own.

Right. Let me just show you this photo of Rosie - most of the "busy-ness" of this week has been down to keeping an eye on her.

Here she is just after I'd taken her to the vet for the second time in the week - looking (thank goodness!) much more relaxed than I thought she would. We've just found out that, in addition to her being hyper-thyroidic and needing tablets twice a day, she is severly deficient in Vitamin B12 and will have to have regular injections. My poor girl! She loves the vet though, and was purring like a tractor until he actually injected her. The needle was painless, it seemed, but as soon as the fluid started going in she mewed pitifully for a few seconds. Apparently Vitamin B12 STINGS!

A bit later though, here she is in Alan's arms, quite recovered and loving the cuddles. I love this photo!

Thanks for dropping in - and sorry for keeping you waiting so long. Don't forget to book your place on July's class and, if you want one of the Class Bundles don't forget you'll get free shipping if you order before 30th June. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Lovely As A Father's Day!

Hello! Did you have a good weekend? Ours was busy, me at the Library Craft Fair in Ipswich on Saturday (big hellos to everyone I met there!!) and then both of us trying desperately to get the garden tidied up a bit yesterday before the rain hit again.

Here’s the card we made for our respective dads for Fathers’ Day yesterday (sorry about the photo. I decided to save time by not getting my tripod out, so it's a bit blurry, but of course I don't still have the cards to take another picture!):

If it looks a bit familiar, then it is – it’s CASEd from this year’s Idea Book and Catalogue, just with the sentiment changed round. Alan’s idea, he was flicking through the IBC the other day and said, “I think we should do this one, it’s perfect!” So we did. I love that the Stampin’ Up! catalogue is more than just a list of products and prices, there is just so much inspiration in there. Perfect for getting your creativity going again if it’s gone into hiding for a while (does yours do that too?).

The stamp set is one of my all-time favourites, but one I haven’t had chance to get out for a while, “Lovely As A Tree”. I loved getting it inky again, and you’ll probably see more of it soon, now that’s it has made its way off the shelf again. The sentiments are from "Delightful Dozen" and "Teeny Tiny Wishes" (of course!). The colours, and I love this combination, are Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Rive Rock and Very Vanilla. The brads are from the Neutrals collection.

If you'd like to get your very own Idea Book and Catalogue, just click on the link in the sidebar and one will be winging its way to you very shortly. Or, if you'd like to get one FREE, get in touch with me to book your Stampin' Up! party - and don't forget our very special offer for hostesses in June and July (click here for more details).

Thanks for looking, do pop back soon!

Look What's Arrived!

Hello! Ohh, look what came in the post!

It's my new banner, for when I'm out and about doing Craft Fairs and the like - do you like it? I'm thrilled to bits with it and wanted to show you all...
If you want to see the banner (and me!) in "real life", then you'll be able to catch us tomorrow at Ipswich County Library Craft Fair. Tomorrow is the library's Multi-Cultural Day, so we've been moved upstairs as the space usually occupied by the craft stalls is needed for other things, so do take a wander upstairs and say hello.

Just a quick post today, as I'm up to my neck in paperwork (of the slightly less enjoyable kind), but I couldn't resist showing you my new "pretty". Back soon with more to show you, and thanks for dropping by!

Triple Treat Thank You

Hello! Stampin’ Up! is known for its beautifully co-ordinated sets of stamps, but did you know that you can also get an increasing range of single stamps from your Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator? Here’s a card made using one of them, the beautiful “Triple Treat Flower”.

This is one of the “thank you” cards that I’m sending out at the moment, to all the lovely people who order through me. Simple but, I hope, pretty and effective. When I designed this I’d been watching the Jubilee fireworks and the little ribbon tag trailing behind the stamped image put me in mind of shooting stars. Somehow it feels really uplifting (or is that just my imagination?)

The colours are all from the In Colour ranges: Peach Parfait for the card base, Island Indigo for the Designer Series Paper layer, the ribbon and the five-petalled part of the flower, along with Lucky Limeade for the outside part of the flower. I love this colourway - I discovered it when I was tidying up (!) after I’d been prepping for this month’s classes. I had a some scraps of Peach Parfait and Lucky Limeade card lying on my desk, and I picked up a piece of Island Indigo ribbon that had been knocked onto the floor. “Ooh, that looks nice!” I thought, and that was the end of my tidying session!

Did you notice one clever thing about this flower? It co-ordinates with THREE of our punches, making it really easy to achieve this beautiful, layered effect. The Fancy Flower punch, the Five-Petal Flower punch and the ½” Circle punch mean that you don’t have to worry about doing any tricky cutting, you just stamp, punch and stick. Great for when you’re in a hurry.

And on that note, I’ve reminded myself that I was part way through tidying my craft room, so I’d better go and get started again. Thanks for dropping by, see you again soon!

Door Tag

Hello! Well – what a day! I’m wrapped up as warmly as if it were October, and looking out at seemingly endless rain. The washing machine is on the go so the house is going to be bedecked with wet towels and sheets shortly, and Rosie has hardly ventured out of her radiator bed at all today, as a result of the state of the weather. I wish I’d had my camera handy to show you the unimpressed look she gave me as I clattered into the kitchen with the laundry basket!

Never mind, all the more time to craft and to surf the web looking at pretty things, and on that note, I’d like to show you this little tag – isn’t it sweet?

I made one for each of the ladies who came to my class on Saturday. I made one for myself too, and will be making some more as I fancy them for door-handle decorations to brighten up our house. There is something about Melon Mambo that really cuts through the murk of these dingy days and it always makes me smile, and teamed with fresh Whisper White it just oozes cheer and happiness.

Hmm.. Maybe I’ll do something similar to hang on the curtain poles in our living room. Our house is rented, so we are limited in what we can do, and you certainly wouldn’t want to hang actual curtains on those rails, they don’t look at all capable of bearing weight (we have blinds everywhere, not my cup of tea but we’re stuck with them for the time being). There’s a thought…

The stamp is from the “Mixed Bunch” set (so gorgeous!) from the Summer Mini-Catalogue, which is part of June’s Class Bundles, and the ribbon is the beautiful Satin Organza Ribbon, which you’ll find in the main catalogue. The leaf spray is from the Bird Builder punch.

Next time, I’ll show you the one of my current “thank you” card designs, which I’ve been making for my customers. I really appreciate their orders and like to show them that I do. It’s so easy in life to feel taken for granted and a card is a lovely way to tell someone you’re thinking of them.

Don’t forget to take advantage of this month’s current special offers (free Designer Series Paper and additional Hostess Benefits) – click here for more information and then, if you want to book a party or place an order then just call me or email me and we’ll get the ball rolling.

Thanks for popping in! See you soon…

June "Cards ...and More!" Projects

Hello! Hmm... it's amazing how much of a distraction a new phone can be. Alan treated me to an upgrade of my mobile yesterday (to the Galaxy Note) and all of a sudden, my Sunday had vanished, eek!! It is brilliant though, and I'm ALMOST finished setting it up the way I want it to be. So it's about time I got myself into gear and posted photos of the projects we made at Saturday's class... (Sorry, I completely forgot to take a picture of them all together!)

A bright and breezy little diamond-topped card - these are SO much easier to put together with the Simply Scored!

A simple but effective scored frame for a gorgeous image.

Really elegant, this one. The scored detailing at the bottom looks like corduroy!

And finally, a sweet little gift basket. You can make these in any size you want, just cut your DSP accordingly.

Here is is again from a different angle. There used to be more sweets in in than there are now!

I am always really nervous before a class, and every time I have such a fantastic time. The ladies loved the projects (thank goodness! Either that, or they're good actresses; I hope it's the former) and the time just flew by. I didn't even have my obligatory chocolate biscuit, which is practically unheard of!

We chatted about my next couple of classes, which will focus more closely on the new Simply Scored range of products, and I even gave the ladies a hint as to what next month's class will involve (no letting on now, ladies!). If you want to see what I have in store for you, then pop back in a couple of days or so, and I'll let you see a couple of sneak peeks...

I always try to make a little something for everyone who attends my classes, and this time was no exception. I'll show you a photo tomorrow of what everyone got with their goody bag, so I hope you'll have time to pop back then.

I hope you liked the projects we did for this class. Don't forget, I'll be running the same class on Thursday morning (14th June) and Pennikkity Pots, and you still have a few days left to book your space if you fancy joining us.

See you tomorrow!

Sneak Peek For Tomorrow

Hello! I'm sitting here listening to the wind howling round the garden, and the rain clattering against the window pane and thinking how glad I am to be able to sit here in the dry and warm. June eh? Youve got to laugh at the British summer, or you'd be howling along with it. Rosie isn't at all happy and is demanding to know why I don't Make It Stop. Cats don't quite understand that sometimes what they want just isn't possible, do they?

Anyway, I wanted to remind you that today is your last chance to book onto tomorrow's "Cards ...and More!" class. You will be able to book onto the Penikkity Pots one until Wednesday of next week, bit if Saturdays are your thing, then today's the last day. Here's a final sneak peek at another of the class projects. I've been asked for more "fancy folds" cards, so I'm including this one. It's really effective and always gets a "wow, how did you do that?!" but actually easy to make with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. Why not come along and join in? You can book by clicking on the link in the sidebar, or click here for more information.
Back soon, hope the rain doesn't spoil your day!

A Card By Anne!

Hello! I hope you enjoyed a fabulous Jubilee Weekend! Today, I wanted to show you a beautiful card created by one of my lovely customers, Anne. I don’t usually show projects with stamp sets that are no longer available, but I couldn’t resist sharing this with you:

Isn't it gorgeous?! Anne used the “Fresh Vintage” stamp set that she got as part of her product bundle when she attended the Craft Day I did with Emma at the end of March, and I love the effect she’s achieved here using the distressing techique we used on the day.

Along with the photo, Anne sent a lovely note saying how much she was enjoying using the stamp set and the other gorgeous goodies she got on the day – I was so delighted to hear how much fun she’s been having with them. It really makes my day knowing that I have played even a small part in inspiring people to spend time creating such beautiful things!

I will be spending some more time crafting with Anne at this weekend’s “Cards …and More!” class in Kesgrave. If you fancy coming along, there are still some spaces left, so drop me a line to book your place and, if you want to, order your Class Bundle at a special, discounted price. You can pay quickly and easily by using the PayPal link in the sidebar, and if your Saturday’s already booked, don’t forget that I’m running the same class again at Pennikkity Pots Ceramics CafĂ© in Ipswich on Thursday morning (14th June). It’d be great to see you there! Click here for more details of the class.

Why not email me a photo of the projects you’ve created using your favourite Stampin’ Up! products? I always enjoy seeing what you’ve made, and I’d love to share some more pictures of your creations.

Thanks for dropping in, and I’ll see you soon…
